Dear Members and Friends,
I was cooking dinner the other evening when I noticed that it was nearly 6:00 p.m. and still light outside. This realization hits me every year about this time, and it always brings a smile to my face. We are well past the short, dark days of Christmas week! Spring is nearly here!
As it approaches, we at KPC are observing Lent, that six-week period of reflection and discernment of how we are aligning ourselves with God’s will that each of us should experience abundant life. In refreshing our awareness of God’s steadfast love, we prepare ourselves to celebrate its highest expression in the events of Holy Week and Easter.
At our annual meeting on February 26, the Pastor Nominating Committee gave an update on their progress in searching for a new installed pastor for KPC. The seven PNC members are working very hard to review the initial applications they have received, winnowing down by listening to sermon videos and schedule Zoom interviews with the most promising candidates. I am confident that the PNC would welcome any referrals you or your network may have of individuals who could be a good fit for KPC. Indeed, that sort of word-of-mouth recommendation often produces the strongest candidates.
See you in church!
