From the Pastor: April 2026
Dear Friends, Have you ever heard someone say, “It’s too bad to be true”? Probably not. It’s not a common saying. And yet, we’ve all said for ourselves, all too often, “It’s too good to be true!” Sadly, it’s human nature to seize on, remember, and believe as gospel the pain and trauma that surrounds us, and to disregard as fanciful imagination the miracles that dance on the edges of our lives, waiting to be seen and believed. Case in point, on the morning of Jesus’ resur

From the Pastor: March 2026
Dear Friends, In the spirit of the Lenten season, let me ask: How’s your daily prayer life? Stop - wait - I know about half of you are already about to scroll right down to the next article. And I guarantee it’s not the half that feels really satisfied with their prayer life. But take heart, I’m not going to nag you or make you feel bad about your spiritual journey. That would defeat the purpose of prayer, which is designed to bring us a measure of peace, not make us feel

From the Pastor: Feb 2026
Dear Friends, This month we’re all a bit buried in the snow and darkness, and it’s a good time to hunker down with a good book. We want to highlight our excellent little church library, reminding everyone what a treasure we have right here at KPC. Our librarian, Peggy Martin, will be highlighting a book from the library each month in PresNotes, so you can get a taste of the joys that may lie ahead for you—and thank you, Peggy, for taking care of our treasure trove! From the Pastor: Jan 2026
Dear Friends, As I grow older, my faith in God grows stronger, but my faith in humanity is easily shaken. I believe that God is working in the world to bring joy and salvation, but I also believe that many people are working in the world to bring cruelty and ignorance. As such, it gets harder to celebrate New Year’s as a time to hope for a Happy New Year. Hope is an elusive bird that takes flight easily. But hope is the foundational rock on which faith is built.
