Dear Friends,

This month we’re all a bit buried in the snow and darkness, and it’s a good time to hunker down with a good book.  We want to highlight our excellent little church library, reminding everyone what a treasure we have right here at KPC.  Our librarian, Peggy Martin, will be highlighting a book from the library each month in PresNotes, so you can get a taste of the joys that may lie ahead for you—and thank you, Peggy, for taking care of our treasure trove!  Peggy writes:

The Library is a great resource at KPC with books acquired over the years that follow religious thinking, moral living, and trends of the times. We would like to highlight one book each month in PresNotes to draw your attention to this asset.

The main sections of the Library, if entering through the door from Fellowship Hall are, in clockwise order starting at the fireplace: Biography, Non-fiction, Children’s, Fiction.

If you wish to borrow a book, simply sign the card in the pocket at the back of the book and drop it in the sign-out card box on the counter. Ideally, books should be returned within two weeks’ time.

The Library catalog is online on the KPC website under Connect / Member Portal. Enter the church member password to access the free text search for library materials.

If you have any suggestions for titles to add to the catalogue, please let Peggy Martin know. Donations are also welcome.

And Martin adds this—I wonder what other resources KPC has to offer you that you haven’t tasted yet?  Whether it’s joining one of our many music groups, the Monday Faith & Fellowship book studies, Presbyterian Women, KPC Justice Seekers, Rummage, KPC Queer, Separation/Divorce Support Group, the many youth activities Heidi pulls together… the list goes on and on.  I invite you to dig deeper into the joy of belonging that is our family of faith at KPC.  It will enrich your life, I promise—did you know that studies show members of faith communities live longer?  Maybe that’s why we have so many awesome nonagenarians.

O taste and see that our God is good!  (Psalm 34:8)

With joy and thanksgiving,

With deep gratitude and Christmas hope,

Love and light

Martin
