MUSIC

The music ministry at KPC is well known in the community for its high quality and variety of music genres.

Our Organist and Choir Director, Eunkyung “Grace” Woo, is an accomplished organist and pianist and leads our Worship Choir. The styles of music range from Bach to Gospel to contemporary Jazz, and we are not shy about using an array of instruments including our Möller organ, Steinway baby grand piano, and instrumentalists and singers from our church family and the community.

It is not necessary to be a member of our church to participate in the music groups.

VOCAL CHOIRS

We encourage members and friends of our congregation to volunteer their musical talents to help enhance our worship services and special events. Whether you are part of a brass ensemble, aspiring guitarist, or an accomplished violinist, there are many opportunities for the young and old alike! Or would you be interested in singing in a choir or as a soloist on occasion? Contact Eunkyung “Grace” Woo to find out about upcoming opportunities and how to get involved!

Worship Choir

The Worship Choir is a vibrant community of talented singers, welcoming everyone from beginners to seasoned vocalists. From September through early June, the choir enriches our worship services with uplifting music. Their repertoire spans a wide variety of styles—traditional hymns, contemporary worship, gospel, blues, and jazz—bringing depth and joy to our shared worship experience.

The choir rehearses Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:00 p.m.

Children's Choir

We invite our youngest singers to learn new songs and to share their gifts during services a few times throughout the school year.

Children sing together during Sunday school gatherings from September to early June, and all are welcome to join anytime!

HANDBELL CHOIRS

We have various groups available for beginning, intermediate, and advanced musicians under the direction of Eunkyung “Grace” Woo.

Katonah Celebration Ringers

Our advanced bell choir, the Katonah Celebration Ringers, is made up of dedicated ringers—some with more than 30 years of experience. Together they ring 6 octaves of bronze bells (from just a few ounces to over 10 pounds!) and 7 octaves of choir chimes.

The KCR have traveled nationally and internationally to share their music. Come and hear why they are so special!

Rehearsals are Sundays following worship from 12:00-2:00 p.m.

Chamber Ringers

The Chamber Ringers play intermediate-level handbell music under Grace Woo’s direction.

They bring music to worship about once a month and also participate in the annual Hudson Valley Handbell Festival Conference.

Junior Ringers

Our beginner handbell choir, the Junior Ringers, is open to children (2nd grade and up) and adults who want to learn. This is a fun and free opportunity to discover handbells in a welcoming group.

The Junior Ringers play in worship several times each year, including their beloved Palm Sunday procession that begins at the old Katonah train station.

Interested in Joining a Bell Choir?

New ringers are welcome any time of year and are encouraged to come to rehearsals to see what it is all about.

A workshop is held each June for interested ringers who are considering entering the handbell ministry for the following season (September to early June). You do not have to be a member of the church to participate in this ministry.

Considering Music for a Wedding or Private Event?

Our most experienced group of ringers, the Katonah Celebration Ringers (KCR), play at weddings, international symposiums, local festivals and concerts, and offer a beautiful and elegant musical ensemble to any event. All of our handbell choirs enjoy performing at various venues.
