From the Pastor: Nov 2025

Dear Friends,

Autumn is a season of gathering. The harvest comes in, sweaters come out, and we begin to draw closer—to warmth, to home, to one another. It’s a time when nature reminds us that life is cyclical, and that community is not just a comfort but a necessity.  Costumed children not our own excitedly ring our doorbells on October 31st asking for treats, and we joyfully and generously give, just because it’s so darned fun—and it feels good to be connected to the joy.  Soon we will gather around our tables to feast and give thanks for the community to which we belong and the God who draws us together.

As the season draws us inward, it also invites us to reflect on what it means to belong—to one another, and to the church.  At KPC, belonging is more than membership and attendance—it’s connection. It’s the quiet joy of being part of something sacred, something enduring. It’s knowing that your presence matters, your gifts make a difference, and your story is held within a larger story of grace.  As we continue our stewardship journey, we celebrate not just what we give, but why we give. We give because we belong. We give because we believe in the mission of this church—to love boldly, serve faithfully, and welcome generously. Stewardship is not a transaction; it’s a declaration. It says, “This is my community. This is my calling. I am part of this.”

Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 9:7, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”  That cheerfulness springs from belonging—from the joy of knowing we are not alone, and that together, we are building something beautiful.

This November, as we count our blessings, may we also count the joy of being part of this church. May we give with glad hearts, serve with open hands, and continue to grow in love—together.

With joy & thanksgiving,

Love and light

Martin
