One blessing of attending church is that it provides us with an opportunity to give generously, for our own good. The Bible tells us that the lure of money and the acquisition of possessions can be dangerous to our souls. They are toxic in high doses. And one of the best ways to protect ourselves is by generosity that mitigates their build-up. In other words, by opening our hands and giving some of what we have away.
