The Bible's most asked question "How Long?" refers to God's redemptive and surely coming redemptive future, given the seemingly irreversible evil of the current day: in our case, the unprecedented and seemingly irreversible rise in gun violence; police violence against innocent, especially African-American citizens, the degradation of our climate, cruelty to legitimate refugees come with profound hope to America; the threats to the democratic political system suddenly arising in virtually all democracies, etc.
The sermon explores the two biblical answers to "How Long?" in Isaiah 6, the call of Isaiah to be a prophet, and Revelation 6's challenge to the Christain "faithful witness."
