Presbyterian Women Book Discussion

Presbyterian women’s fall book discussion will be about Stephanie Land’s book Maid.

This memoir details Stephanie’s experience as a single mother living in poverty. It’s a powerful account of how a smart, talented woman ended up a homeless mother and reliant on public benefits and insufficient pay earned by cleaning houses. The lengths to which she had to go to survive highlight the daily stigma and uncertainties of the working poor.
