SCRIPTURE LESSON Luke 15:1-32
One reason we “do" church is because it satisfies our need for a faith community which provides us with instruction, support, feedback and accountability. It brings order to our lives. It gives us a locus for worship, and attending worship is an important way of putting the events of our lives in helpful perspective. And our individual faith gives off more light and warmth when kindred believers support it. God desires for us a community reflective of the complexity and humanity of our world today, where people are received on the basis of the goodness in their heart, rather than the labels by which they are categorized.
