Music Ministry

The music ministry at the First Presbyterian Church of Katonah is well known in the community for its high quality and eclecticism. Our Director of Music, Eileen Laurence, is our organist, and leads our Adult Choir and bell choirs. Our associate organist, Ginny Leeman, plays services twice a month. We have music groups for young and old and all abilities. For singers, the Adult and Junior Choirs are open to all. For bells ringers, the choirs are divided by ringing ability, from beginner to advanced. There are many fine instrumentalists among our membership. Volunteer brass ensembles are heard in church not only at Christmas and Easter, but throughout the year. Music that is scored for harp, cello, and flute is enjoyed by all. A way is found to involve all the musicians within our church community in our music ministry. The styles of music range from Bach to Gospel and Jazz, using the Moeller organ, the Steinway baby grand piano and involving instrumentalists and singers from our church family and our community. It is not necessary to be a member of our church to participate in the music groups. Be sure to check back here for our upcoming events.
