What attracts people to our church? We ask this question with every new person who seeks membership. Quite often it is our pro-active church school. BUT most often it is our outreach to our community, outreach that is partially financial but heavily augmented in service by our members. If Jesus were to walk into our church, we know we would be practicing what he has preached. Indeed, our church has a rich history of outreach and service to our community. The Church and Society committee serves as a clearing house for initiatives that Katonah Presbyterian Church members undertake and administers the funds derived from member pledges earmarked for Community Mission. During the past year we have given time, talent and financial support to a wide variety of projects and activities that seek to serve our brothers and sisters who are in need of help, including the following:
This is but a partial listing of our involvement in local activities. Our engagement in the local community is an outgrowth of our historic reputation as a mission oriented church and we are proud of our traditional generous giving record for international mission. |
